![]() Music by John Suffolk. Lyrics by Gordon Streek Being staged by two schools in 1999, Lauriston Girls High in regional Victoria and Port Pirie in South Australia. Circus Like Ringleader: "Ladies and Gentlemen Presenting the wildest, wackiest and brightest show on earth." "Red, blue, green, grey, pink, yellow and white. Rainbow colours brilliant and white. Here we go, never still, screech and squawk. Cockatoo and lorikeet, Parrot and galah. Flying and nibbling, swooping all day long. Let us sing our noisy little song." When Gordon Streek the artistic Director of the Roo Theatre, at Kiama on the south coast of New South Wales, grew tired of his younger members lobbying to perform CATS he decided to create an original piece of music theatre dedicated to Australia’s own wildlife. It’s the story of a group of typical Australians going for a picnic in the rainforest completely obsessed with their own life and oblivious to the magical surroundings they are about to enter.During this musical they are seduced by the Wild! The music is very catchy. It could be described as combination of pop and funk. Cast: Minimum of 10. Maximum unlimited. Orchestration : 6 piece. Here is a taste of some of the characters. Snakes... " Why in myths and legends ever since time began has the snake been cast as a villain" Frogs..."Wrak, wrak Wrak, wrak For ten long nights we call.
