Primary School Musicals by Sue and Arch Dyer

Sue and Arch have written lively attractive musicals for large cast with backing tapes.

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

This is the Dyer's favourite youth musical. It's strength is that there are wonderful roles to play, a delightful lolly dance and the plot is sophisticated enought to appeal to adults. The town of Hamelin is suddenly plagued with rats, but worse than that a corrupt local council. The Pied Piper offers to get rid of them for a thousand guilders. He fulfills his duty the Mayor decides he'd rather keep the guilders for the council. In an extra-ordinary piece of industrial protest , The Pied Piper leads the children of the town to the Land of Smiles. They all have a ball doing the Lolly dance. Later after the townsfolk revolt the Mayor is brought into line and the Pied Piper returns the children back to Hamelin.
