Puss in Thongs

An Australian angle on the timeless classic by Charles Perrault. The brothers, Dick and Harry Miller, are forced out of their home by their greedy brother Tom. Dick sets out to make his fortune and Harry is left to look after the cat, Puss.

Harry is surprised to discover that Puss is indeed a talking cat. Puss assures Harry that she can make them both rich, if Harry does everything Puss asks him to do. Harry must provide Puss with a pair of strong boots and   a very grand hat. Not being able to afford very much, Harry takes Puss to the local thrift shop, where they meet Dora, Doris and Daisy, the wonderfully eccentric, elderly volunteers. The best they can do is a rather grandiose second hand hat and a pair of thongs.

Suitably attired, Puss sets out across the Great Sandy Desert to impress the King and convince him of allow Master Harry to marry the beautiful Princess. The adventures of Puss and the misadventures of Dora, Doris and Daisy along the way include much audience participation, singalongs and general hilarity.

During the expedition, our strange group of would-be hero's encounter a Bunyip, a witch, a camel and many other zany characters one would expect to meet during the course of a pantomime. As in all fairy stories, good eventually triumphs, Harry and the Princess are betrothed, Puss meets her soulmate, the witch meets a sticky end and all live happily ever after.
