![]() Frank Hatherley's multi-media professional career has covered radio, film journalism, theatre directing, TV drama producing with the BBC, and a London university senior lectureship in media studies. But he has always returned to playwriting, usually comic, often with songs. 2005 looks like being a good year for Frank. Manly Mates gets a 6-week November/December run at the New Theatre, Newtown, Sydney; My Henry Lawson is touring with the Actors' Forum; The Merry Widow from Bluegum Creek plays at Marie Clark Theatre in Adelaide and a brand-new musical for which he has written the book and co-written the lyrics gets its professional world premiere under his direction in Sydney in August.
